How to create an Authorization payer rule

Authorization Rules

Depending on the insurance, some policies require authorization for certain HCPCS codes, adding authorization rules will prompt the system to advise you that authorization is required if it does not find one in the patient’s file at the time it creates the invoice.

To enter an Authorization Rule, find the correct tab under rules and select “Authorization”

Be sure to select “Add Rule”

Then you will be prompted to enter the required HCPCS codes that need authorization for that insurance.  

Be sure to select the blue plus sign next to the HCPCS to ensure it gets selected.  

You can also add more than one HCPCS to the same line, just be sure after each entry you select that blue plus sign. The added codes will appear to the right. 

Remember to select save on the bottom right, once complete.
