Managing price options in bulk can save time and effort, especially when you need to update or add a large number of price options. One effective way to do this is by using a .csv file to import data into your system. This article will guide you through the process of importing price options in bulk.
Step-by-Step Guide to Importing Price Options in Bulk
1. Navigate to the Import Section
To begin, you'll need to access the data import feature. Follow these steps:
Go to:
Management > Data Transfer > Import
Once you're on the Import page, click the blue + button and select Import from the available options.
2. Select Price Options for Import
In the import screen, you’ll need to specify the type of data you’re importing.
In the Import Type field, select Price Options.
3. Download the Price Option Template
Before importing your data, you’ll need to download the appropriate template.
Click the Download Template button. This will download a .csv file template designed specifically for price options. Please save this file as .csv file type.
This template contains pre-defined columns where you can input your price option data.
4. Review the Schema Description and Headers
The .csv template includes two essential tabs:
Schema Description Tab: This tab explains what each column in the workbook represents and the possible field values that can be used. Reviewing this will help you understand how to properly fill in the data.
Schema Headers Tab: This tab lists the exact headers that should be used when uploading the file. It’s essential that you follow these headers exactly, as the system will rely on them to map the data correctly.
Ensure that you follow these guidelines and headers closely to avoid any errors during the import process.
5. Fill in Your Price Option Data
Once you’ve reviewed the template and schema information, you can proceed to fill in the necessary price option data. Enter the details for each price option you wish to add or update in the corresponding columns of the .csv file.
6. Export Existing Price Options (Optional)
If you want to make edits or additions to existing price options, you can export the current price options and modify them in bulk.
To export price options: Go to
Management > Data Transfer > Export
and select export price options to a .csv file. After making your changes to the exported file, you can upload it back into the system following the same steps as outlined above.
7. Upload Your Updated .csv File
After completing your updates in the .csv file, it’s time to upload the file back into the system.
Return to the Data Transfer > Import section.
Choose the updated .csv file and upload it. The system will process the file and apply the changes to your price options.
8. Verify Your Imported Price Options
After completing the import process, it’s crucial to verify that the price options were successfully updated or added. Check the status to confirm the upload process has finished. Additionally, a log file will be available for download, which will highlight any errors encountered during data processing. The log file will reference specific rows in your .csv file where errors occurred, making it easier to address and correct them.
