How to create, edit, and delete Chart of Accounts in Billing Setup

Overview

Chart of Accounts can be used to create a list of account groups. These account groups can then be assigned to payers. As an example, you can create a Commercial or Government Payer account group. This account grouping will allow you to then report transactions based on these account groups. As an admin, you can set up a unique chart of accounts to be used.


Locate Chart of Accounts

To locate Chart of Accounts in your Billing, go to:

Management > Billing Setup > Chart of Accounts

This will bring you to your Chart of Accounts queue where you can view all the Chart of Accounts that have already been added to NikoHealth.


Create an Account Group

While in the Chart of Accounts queue, you can create a new Account. Click on the Blue NikoHealth Plus Sign action button.

The Create Account window will open.

Enter the following information:

  • Code - Enter a code, name, or other identifier.

  • Name - Enter the title of the account.

Click Create to save the new account.


Edit/Update an Adjustment Reason

To edit or update an existing Account, navigate to the Chart of Accounts queue. Locate the Account you wish to edit and hover over it. A pencil icon will appear on the right hand side.

Click on the pencil icon to edit the Account.

The Edit account window will open.

Update the Code and Name field as needed. Any changes will automatically update existing records and be applied to future ones.

Click Save to keep your changes.


Delete an Account

Removing an account cannot be undone. Use caution before deleting an account.

To Delete an existing Chart of Accounts, navigate to the Chart of Accounts queue. Locate the Account you wish to Delete and hover over it. A read trashcan will appear on the far right.

Click on the trashcan to permanently delete the Account.
