Overview

Documents help you keep important files attached to patient records and tasks. Because of how documents attach and link to other records, there are several places to find and work with them. In this article we’ll go over the different places you can view documents and then how to filter and search through them.

View All Documents

To see all the documents uploaded into NikoHealth beyond the ones you’ve added yourself, you need user permission to view All Documents.

If you have those permissions, you can view all documents by clicking the paper icon in the top right menu.

Once on the Document Management page, click the All Documents tab.

See the Filter and Search Documents sections to learn how to find specific documents.

View Your Documents

To see all the documents you have uploaded to NikoHealth, click the paper icon in the top right menu.

Once on the Document Management page, click the My Documents tab.

View Documents within Patient, Task, and Order Records

Patient profiles and tasks can have documents associated with them. If you have a patient profile or task open, you can easily see the documents attached by selecting the Documents tab at the top.

Note that all documents will be organized by Document Type. The most recently used document type will show at the top of the page.

To preview a document, hit the eye icon to the right.

To download a document, click the arrow icon to the right.

To edit a document, click the pencil icon to the right.

See the Filter and Search Documents sections to learn how to find specific documents.

Filter and Search Documents

You can only search for and filter documents on the Document Management page, which can be reached by clicking the paper icon in the top right menu.

On the Document Management page, there is a set of filters and searches at the top of the page. You can use these filters and search fields to find a specific document or narrow the display results.

The following fields are available:

  • Document Name - This is a search field where you can enter part or all of a document name.

  • Notes - This is a search field where you can enter part or all of the text entered in a document note.

  • Date Uploaded - Use the calendar dropdown to filter documents by the date they were uploaded. To the left are standard time periods you can use as a filter. To select custom dates, use the right and left arrows to navigate the months and select calendar dates. When you’re done click Apply.

  • Attached - The dropdown will show if the document has been attached to a patient record or a task.

You can remove any search or filter by hitting the X to the right of the field.

To clear all filters and search criteria, click the circular arrow on the left.
