Overview

When you create a new patient manually, by default they will have the status of Active. If you create a patient from a message, they will have the default status of Hold.

There are three statuses a patient can have:

  • Active - A patient has been created in the system and can be used for all purposes.

  • Hold - A patient is in the system but needs to be approved to an Active status before orders and other actions can be taken associated with the profile.

  • Inactive - A patient is no longer with NikoHealth and actions can no longer be taken with the profile.

Manage Statuses

You can adjust a patient’s status at any time by following the steps below:

First, find and view the appropriate patient profile.

Click the pencil icon next to the patient status in the right panel. Note that the patient status is right below the patient's name and profile picture.

The Edit Patient Status window will open. Use the Status dropdown to select the desired patient status.

If you select Inactive, you will need to select a Reason for Inactive from the dropdown and an Inactive Date.

When you’re done, click Save.
