Overview
Patient profiles are the most important record in NikoHealth. Everything else that you can do in NikoHealth, from creating an order to making a task, can be tied to a patient. Patient profiles are easy to create and can be updated with new information and attachments at any time.
Think of Patient Profiles as your one-stop shop for all information related to a patient. Any time there’s a question about a patient order, patient insurance, or any other patient-related information, you can open up the patient profile to find your answer.
The patient profile is made up of multiple subtabs that link all information related to your patient right in their profile.
Patient Profile Sections
At the top of the Patient Profile, in the gray ribbon, you'll see a list of tabbed sections that are included in the profile.
Click on any tab to view that tab's information about this patient. The tabs will always be visible while you're in the Patient Profile, so you can easily explore all patient information in one spot.
The following tabbed sections are included in the Patient Profile. Click the link to learn more about each section:
Side Panel
To the left is the Patient Profile Side Panel which helps you quickly view important information about the Patient. Regardless of what tabbed section you're on, the Side Panel can always be visible. However, you have the ability to expand and collapse the side panel as needed by clicking on the gray collapse arrows at the bottom of the panel.
While some information shown in the Side Panel is there by default, many parts can be customized by you. This let's you control the information that's always visible and customize what you see.
By default, the Side Panel includes:
Patient name, DOB, age, ID number, and gender
Contact Information
Location (including home or facility)
Insurance
Active Orders
Recent Appointments
Customizing the Side Panel
There are different mechanisms for customizing the Side Panel and including key data that you want visible at all times. These include:
Tags: You can add patient tags that will appear at the very top of the Patient's Side Panel. For more information on Tags in NikoHealth, visit our help article.
Custom Fields: You can create custom data fields and "pin" them to the Patient Profile Side Panel. For more information on creating and pinning Custom Fields, visit our help article.
You can also choose to collapse sections of the Side Panel by clicking on the gray carrot.
Action Button
If you've been working in NikoHealth for some time, you'll recognize the NikoHealth blue Action Button in the upper right corner of your screen.
You can always click the blue Action Button for a list of actions available. The button is dynamic, which means the list of available actions will change as you navigate throughout NikoHealth.
When you're in a Patient Profile, the menu options include things like Adding Documents to the profile, creating a new appointment for the patient, adding a note about the patient, creating a new order, and much more.
