How to Create a Bundled Item

Updated over a week ago

Understanding Bundles in Nikohealth

In NikoHealth, a Bundle is a unique catalog item that is made up of multiple existing items. Bundles are used when the action of selecting one product should automatically add a predefined set of items to an Order.

A CPAP Machine is a good example of a Bundle. The code DSX500T11C consists of: the device, heated humidifier, heated tubing, filters, water chamber, & a wireless modem.

Key points about bundles in NikoHealth:

  • A bundle is created as a new product in the catalog

  • The product is designated as a Bundle type

  • Existing catalog items are selected as components

  • When a bundle is added to an order, all component items are automatically added

Bundles are designed for fixed, standardized item groupings.

Creating Bundles

Step 1: Navigate to the Product Catalog

  1. Go to Management β†’ Products and Suppliers β†’ Catalog

  2. Click the blue + icon in the top-right corner

  3. Select New Product

Step 2: Enter Product Details

On the Product Details screen, complete the required fields:

  • Name

  • Manufacturer

  • Category

  • Group

  • Part #

  • Status

Step 3: Set the Product Type to Bundle

In the Properties section, open the Type dropdown. There are 3 available options: Non-Serialized, Serialized, and Bundle. Select Bundle.

Once Bundle is selected, the Items section becomes available.

Step 4: Add Items to the Bundle

Scroll to the Items section. In the Add Item field:

  1. Begin typing Product name or Part number

  2. Select the item from the dropdown

  3. Click the + icon to add it

  4. Enter the quantity

Repeat this process for each additional item. Note: You must click the + icon for each item to lock it into the bundle.

Step 5: Review and Save

Verify all items and quantities. Then click Create (or Save) to finish.

Your bundled product is now available for use.

Bundle Behavior & Limitations

Keep the following limitations in mind when creating Bundles:

  • Bundles are treated as a single unit

  • Individual items cannot be easily removed or swapped once added via a bundle

  • Inventory is tracked at the bundle level, not per component

  • Bundles work best for non-variable, repeatable configurations
